Whether you are a compulsive smoker, a physically addicted smoker, a psychological smoker or even all three, the essential ingredient for giving up is the smoker really wants to stop. This is not the same as not liking having to stop. If a smoker enjoys cigarettes, then denying themselves of what they see as one of life's pleasures can become a resentment.
But smoking has to be one of the most damaging things you can knowingly to your body. With all the medical information available today, smoking cigarettes has to be unintelligent.If a smoker makes a decision to stop, then he or she will stop. Hypnotherapy will get them there and support them. Remember, anyone can stop. Anyone can live without cigarettes.
But the difference with hypnosis is that it puts the smoker in a position where he or she actually proves to themselves they can stop. When they do give up, they experience a tremendous sense of pride in their achievement. That's a feeling that makes it all worthwhile. They are back in the driving seat, fully in control of their own behaviour once more.
It's important to make a date a week or so ahead of the day of your first session of hypnotherapy. You need to get your head ready and know that from that specific day you will no longer be a smoker. It's also important that you do not smoke any cigarettes before your consultation on that day.
Normally, the first session has sufficient impact to help you stop for ever and the second session acts as a booster to reinforce that fact.
